Collecting signed NASCAR items has skyrocketed in popularity over the last two decades. NASCAR drivers tend to autograph just about anything, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be careful when shopping for one to add to your personal collection of NASCAR memorabilia.

On the other hand, joining an official fan club for a driver can be a little pricey, but it opens the door for you to be able to obtain driver signatures easily in fan club packages or exclusive merchandise catalogs.

Signed NASCAR memorabilia is also plentiful on Ebay.  Be sure to check the seller’s feedback and their rating. Pay attention to their spelling and presentation of the autographed item, and use your common sense when you buy.   If they’re offering a product that doesn’t exist, like a 2002 die-cast car signed by Dale Earnhart Sr, you should know the seller is attempting to take your money. The more sales they’ve made, the more satisfied customers, the better the guarantee that you’ve bought an official NASCAR autograph.

Many shopping malls now have sports stores or automobile oriented outlets where NASCAR merchandise is available. Often one can visit such a store and purchase nicely framed autographs by themselves or in sets with photographs of winning or championship moments. Make sure to check the store’s credibility. There’s nothing wrong with photographing the autograph – usually – and then comparing it to an online reference to make sure it really is from your favorite driver or crew chief. Be warned that in some cases prices may be steep because you’re paying for the frame along with the autograph!

Of course, the most logical way to obtain a NASCAR autograph is to attend a race. Pre-sale tickets for many tracks often include meet and greet sessions with drivers or open time for fans to wander the pit area. Take advantage of these deals and you just might have your favorite driver sign something for you in person, an experience just as priceless as the autograph itself.

However, online via eBay or Amazon.com is often the most convenient way to buy.  Taking a few extra minutes to assess a company or dealer’s reputation can ensure that your signed NASCAR memorabilia will be authentic.
