Young Drivers’ Test Drive Raises $5,000 For High School Athletes
Typically sixteen year-olds don’t get to test drive a Ford Mustang, a Ford Fusion, or a New Ford F-150 without a few funny looks. Thankfully, Mike Davidson Ford in Jacksonville is not a typical New Ford Dealership.
Following up on last years’ success Mike Davidson Ford has teamed up with Sandalwood High School for the “Drive One for your School” Fundraiser. For every student or parent who came in a test drove a car, Mike Davidson donated $20.00 towards the booster program. Over the weekend of March 19th-22nd they raised over $5,000; these funds will help buy new uniforms, equipment and facility upgrades for the extra-curricular programs at Sandalwood High School.
In the midst of a tough economy, the Good Guys have continued their tradition of service in the local community. Year after year they have helped the community by raising thousand of dollars and donating to worthy causes
“It’s really great to have people from the community come to our showroom and have a good time. The parents, teachers, and students were so energentic about their test drives. Our reputation as the Good Guys was built by lending a helping hand to the community, and we are happy to raise funds for Sandalwood High School.”
-Sybil Turner, Internet Sales Manager, Mike Davidson Ford
“Drive One for your School has been a huge success. Our students work hard all day and being able provide them with well funded extra-curricular activities that help build character is an essential part of our students’ development. We are so grateful for help to keep the activities going strong.”
— Victoria Schultz, Sandalwood High School Principal
Mike Davidson Ford has more exciting charitable programs coming up soon. In honor of National Women’s Health Week, Mike Davidson Ford is a proud sponsor of the Tees for Tatas Golf Classic in Jacksonville on May 1, 2010 at the Mill Cove Golf Course. The event benefits Bands against Breast Cancer, a non-profit group of musicians fighting to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research. At last year’s tournament Mike Davidson Ford offered a shiny 2009 Mustang for a Hole-in-One on a specified hole…look our for a similarly awesome chanceat the next tournament.
